🐝 Pine Bluffs Hornets Set to Compete at the WyoHoops Summer Showcase
The field continues to grow — and it just got better.
The Pine Bluffs Hornets have officially signed up for the WyoHoops Summer Showcase, set for June 27–28 at the Wyoming Sports Ranch in Casper. And make no mistake — this is a program that brings credibility, toughness, and a winning culture into the gym.
🔥 A Program Built on Winning
Pine Bluffs is coming off a strong 2025–2026 season, finishing with over 20 wins and a 5–1 conference record in the 2A East. They weren’t just winning games — they were doing it consistently against quality competition.
The Hornets entered the postseason on a 12-game winning streak, one of the hottest runs in the state, and earned the #1 seed out of the East heading into the State Tournament.
Their tournament run backed it up:
- 🏀 Quarterfinal win over Rocky Mountain (44–33)
- ⚔️ Tough semifinal battle against Wyoming Indian
- 🥉 3rd place finish with a strong win over Big Horn (57–42)
This is a team that has proven it can compete on the biggest stage — and they’re bringing that same edge into the summer.
🛡️ Identity: Defense, Discipline, Toughness
What makes Pine Bluffs dangerous isn’t just their record — it’s how they play.
During their late-season surge, they consistently:
- Held opponents under 45 points
- Controlled tempo
- Executed with discipline on both ends
They picked up key wins over top programs like:
- Lingle-Fort Laramie (OT win)
- Wright (season sweep)
- Big Horn (multiple wins, including state placement game)
This is a group that defends, competes, and finds ways to win — the kind of team no one enjoys playing.
🧠 Leadership & Culture
Under the direction of Coach Tyler Kimzey, Pine Bluffs has developed into one of the most respected programs in 2A.
They play with:
- Structure
- Accountability
- Confidence in big moments
That culture is exactly what makes them such a strong addition to the Summer Showcase.
