Wyoming Basketball Highlights: Show Your Game

Identify the player before the action

A viewer unfamiliar with your team needs to find you quickly. Use a brief identification cue before the possession and keep the play visible. Jersey number, team, and game context help. Avoid effects that obscure the ball, cut away from the decision, or make it difficult to track the athlete.

Choose clips that explain a strength

If you want to show shooting, include how you create or use space. To show passing, keep enough of the possession to reveal the read. Defensive film can include positioning and recovery, not only a steal or block. A purposeful clip answers a basketball question instead of simply proving that something exciting happened.

Show different parts of your game

A highlight package can include finishing, shooting, passing, rebounding, defense, and transition decisions. The mix should reflect the player’s actual role. Do not force a category that the footage does not support. A clear picture of what you do well is more useful than trying to look like every kind of player at once.

Keep the game and season attached

Label the date, opponent, and competition when available. If the footage comes from a club game or showcase, say so. That information helps a coach or fan understand the setting. A highlight can support a season story, but it should not be mistaken for a complete record of every possession.

Put the clip where the story can continue

Pair film with a player profile and accurately labeled numbers so the next person has somewhere to look after the clip ends.
