HAYDEN GEIS PUT BUFFALO ON HIS BACK AND WALKED THEM STRAIGHT TO THE TITLE GAME
Hayden Geis didn’t win the WyoHoops Summer Showcase MVP because of one highlight.
Bro spent the entire tournament collecting pressure possessions like they were side quests. 😭🏆
Buffalo entered a difficult bracket against programs from across Wyoming, and Hayden kept finding ways to drag his squad forward.
An 18-plus-point performance here.
Another one there.
Clutch free throws when everybody in the gym knew the ball was going to him.
Fast-break possessions where he controlled the pace, attacked the defense and refused to let the moment speed him up.
Then came the walk-down pull-up three.
Hayden brought the ball up, looked at the defense and decided there was no reason to wait for the offense to arrive. He pulled that thing from deep and buried it like the defender had personally offended him.
No hesitation.
No permission requested.
Just three points added directly to the tab. 🧾
BUFFALO KEPT SURVIVING
Buffalo wasn’t supposed to have an easy path through that bracket—and they didn’t.
But Hayden kept delivering.
He controlled possessions, created offense and hit the shots that kept Buffalo alive. Every time the tournament tried to send his team home, bro reached into his bag and found another answer.
By the end of the weekend, Hayden had helped lead his smaller-school squad all the way into the championship against an undefeated Cheyenne Central Tribe team.
Buffalo ultimately came up short in the title game, but Hayden’s tournament had already made its point.
The MVP wasn’t determined by who won the final game alone. It was awarded to the player whose impact could be felt throughout the entire bracket.
And Hayden Geis left fingerprints everywhere.
THE MVP VOTE CAME DOWN TO THE WIRE
This wasn’t an easy decision.
Josiah Coleman of Natrona finished second after putting on a show throughout the weekend, making huge plays and battling until the final minute in multiple games.
Parker Hein of Cody finished third after delivering big moments of his own and repeatedly showing up when the game got tight.
Both were absolutely deserving.
But Hayden’s combination of scoring, pace, clutch free throws, late-game control and his ability to lead Buffalo through a loaded bracket gave him the edge.
He didn’t need the championship trophy to prove his value.
Bro brought Buffalo to the doorstep, rang the bell and nearly walked away with the whole house. 😭
That is why Hayden Geis is the WyoHoops Summer Showcase MVP.
Multiple 18-plus-point performances.
Clutch at the line.
Dangerous in transition.
Cold enough to pull from deep while walking the defense down.
Most importantly, he made his entire team believe it belonged in the final game.

Hayden Geis didn’t just play in the bracket.
He bent the bracket around him. 🏆
Wyoming got hoopers.
We got the receipts. 🧾
